Taiwan Expedition Day 6 - Guest-Blogged By 浪迹天涯小狗
Chiong arh!!
27th April 2006
Raining raining raining. We're beginning to hate the rain. Left hotel at 12+ after finishing some Stephen Chow show.
KTV exists in BLOCKS in TW. Not jus one floor. Its ONE WHOLE BLOCK!
Book Street (重庆南路一段) This is like one-third of our motive in coming to Taiwan. 漫画s!!! With all the 10% discounts.. Mistress wld drag more back if her luggage is much bigger. In the end she only bought 2 new series and a few other miscellaneous books.
After throwing our 战利品 in the hotel room, we headed for 剑潭 to visit the Miramar (IMAX Theater) with a Ferris Wheel.
Miramar Ferris Wheel.
The Ferris Wheel tickets which we took a while to purchase due to the koked-up system and one que-cutting auntie. NT150 each.
TP101 amidst the fog. Its always visible wherever we turn.
View from Ferris Wheel
Another view
Toy cars.. NOT.
We went to the famous 士林夜市 for an evening walk. There being a must-go place, was rather crowded even thou its still raining and the food there were quite interesting.
炸弹烧 shop.
The 炸弹烧. Its damn huge lor. Even the 3 takopachi bought in a box at Takashimaya or Bugis combine together oso lose. There's loads of goodies wrapped inside the flour ball such as veggie, prawn, sotong, etc etc.
The guy selling 砖烤麻署. Cute ah beng he is, but he's damn shy lah, din raise his head when the mistress was shooting him in action.
砖烤麻署. Peanut flavor. Its very nice. They have other flavors too like chocolate and wasabi, etc. Still advisable to stick with the normal flavor.
Yet another UFO catcher. Overloaded but its still not easy to get the plush as the catcher will release very fast and the plush are like connecting to each other preventing themselves from falling off the cliff.
Some black pepper cup corn thing. Dun try the black pepper flavor one, its too overpowering. They have other choices like condensed milk and curry.
Came back to 西门丁 (yes I noe the 丁 shld be 田丁, but there's no such 田丁 in the simplified chinese mode). Since the shops are not closed yet, we did a brief walk-about. The mistress bought some CDs at Rose Records, which happened to be more expensive than the discount shop in 嘉义.
It started pouring yet again. Such is the weather of Taiwan. Cold and wet.
Day 7 coming already!
